This tour will finish today around 23.00h at the observation point.
The drive up to Los Andenes viewpoint can take up to 1h and 20 min and same time back.
Stargazing in La Palma Island is one of the finest astronomical experiences possible you can do, specially from the area near Roque de los Muchachos. The Milky Way is MAGNIFICENT, crystal-clear dark skies, La Palma has become an astronomy hotspot.
This astronomical tour is simple and easy, even if you have not previous knoledge of astronomy. Tonight we will be amateurs sharing the same hobby: looking at the stars on La Palma.
Why is so good stargazing in La Palma ?
Due to a very restrictive lighting policy in the all island, outdoor lights on La Palma are well shielded and the nighttime sky still looks how it should: dark and full of stars. For the real show you have to leave the coastline and drive up to the mountains to one of the many astronomical view points that we have in La Palma.
La Palma’s skies are every bit as pure. Great efforts are made to keep light pollution low and preserve its dark skies In 1988, a Sky Law was passed to safeguard the quality of the night sky against air and light pollution for the sake of astrophysical research. In 2012, La Palma became the world’s first Starlight Reserve, lights are typically orange, not white, to prevent glare. Most streetlights face downwards for similar reasons and many other reason are a prove to it.
After making the most of these 60 minutes of astronomical observation, we will also have time to take some night photos. You will pose with the stars of La Palma in the background helped by our guides. After the observation, we will return to the comfort of our hotels in our private transport.
Do not forget to bring very good clothing for the night, it´s very cold up there.

Our recomendation for you is to bring for any tour good hiking or sport clothes and shoes with a good profile. It´s also a good idea to bring sun protection and a cup. Good warm jacket in winter and something against the rain, just in case!.
