Our expedition invites you on a captivating 6,5-kilometer hike, a pilgrimage towards the heart of the newly born volcano, Cumbre Vieja, Tajogaite. The trail winds its way, revealing awe-inspiring vistas of this formidable force of nature. Behold the mesmerizing spectacle of Tajogaite, its ominous silhouette against the sky, a testament to the raw power that shaped the land in La Palma. Along the way, marvel at the vast flaws of lava cascading down into the Aridane Valley, El Paso, Los Llanos and Tazacorte a reminder of the volcano’s fierce embrace.
Fear not, for this journey is not one of recklessness. We tread cautiously, ensuring your safety by hiking up to a secure distance from the fiery heart of Cumbre Vieja. The adventure begins where you’ll gather oppossite to the Visitor Center of Caldera de Taburiente National Park. From there, set forth in your own transport, the anticipation of the unknown sparking in your eyes.
As you traverse the rugged terrain, remember to carry the essentials, water, sporty shoes to withstand the sandy path, and socks to shield your feet from the earth’s embrace. Our recomendation for you is to bring for any tour good hiking or sport clothes and shoes with a good profile. It´s also a good idea to bring sun protection and a cup. Good warm jacket in winter and something against the rain, just in case!.
Do not forget ALWAYS to bring for the hikes water and food, as much as you need.
